The new fastbacked ‘Coupe’ version of the upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV has surfaced online today ahead of its Shanghai Auto Show debut.

Due to be unveiled in the coming hours, the new GLC Coupe ‘Concept’ will enter as a smaller companion to the big GLE Coupe that debuted late last year.

Just as its larger stablemate was introduced to rival BMW’s X6, the new midsized Mercedes will take on the new X4 in the growing ‘Coupe’ SUV market.

Mercedes-Benz has pulled the wraps from its new GLC Coupe Concept for this week’s Shanghai Auto Show.

Unveiled just hours after a series of leaked images surfaced online, the concept offers a first look at what we can expect from the confirmed GLC Coupe, due in the coming year.

As those earlier shots revealed, the concept enters as a smaller version of the GLE Coupe that first appeared late last year.

Just as the GLE Coupe’s role is to battle BMW’s big niche-making X6, the midsized GLC Coupe will take on the brand-new X4.
